Vodafone Idea offers eSIM service for iPhone users in India

Vodafone Idea today ( 20th July 2020 ) released eSIM service in the Delhi, Gujarat and Mumbai areas for its postpaid customers.

In the latest implementation, eligible Vodafone and Idea subscribers will no longer be forced to insert a physical SIM card into their mobile phones to reach their cellular network.

Instead, they will be able to connect the network via an embedded SIM chip. The new service is only for the newest iPhone versions, but at a later point, it will be also extended to other phones.

Vodafone Idea's list of iPhone versions that have received eSIM support includes iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE (2020), iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.

The service will be available on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Fold shortly as well, the telco said in a tweet.

Vodafone Idea guarantees the positive activation of the eSIM within two hours after the QR code is scanned.

It is also important to remember that the QR code sent by email is meant to be of single-use.
